Comprehensive Counseling & Guidance Programs

THE COMPREHENSIVE COUNSELING AND GUIDANCE PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO BENEFIT ALL STUDENTS. THE PRIMARY GOAL OF COUNSELORS IS TO BE STUDENT ADVOCATES AND WORK TO PROMOTE SCHOOL CHANGE BY MEANS OF ADVOCACY AND DATA THAT DEMONSTRATE THE IMPORTANT CHANGES THAT ARE MADE WITH A PROPERLY IMPLEMENTED GUIDANCE PROGRAM. 

Response Services

​RESPONSE SERVICES ARE DESIGNED TO DEAL WITH A VARIETY OF NEEDS THAT MAY OCCUR DURING A FAMILY'S EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE SUCH AS LOSS OF A LOVED ONE, STUDENT ANGER MANAGEMENT ISSUES, ETC.  COUNSELORS AND THE SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST ARE AVAILABLE TO HELP DEAL WITH ACUTE ISSUES AND TO HELP IDENTIFY RESOURCES FOR FAMILIES IF STUDENTS NEED MORE INTENSIVE EMOTIONAL INTERVENTION. IF YOU ARE CONCERNED ABOUT YOUR CHILD PLEASE CONTACT YOUR STUDENT'S SCHOOL COUNSELOR TO BEGIN FINDING SUPPORT FOR ANY ISSUES IMPACTING YOUR STUDENTS EDUCATIONAL PERFORMANCE.  THE FOLLOWING ARE TOPICS THAT ARE OFTEN HANDLED IN COUNSELING INTERVENTIONS:

  • PERFECTIONISM ISSUES
  • SELF-ESTEEM/SELF-IMAGE NEEDS

IN ORDER FOR A COUNSELOR, social worker, OR PSYCHOLOGIST TO MEET REGULARLY WITH YOUR CHILD TO DISCUSS PERSONAL ISSUES, THE COUNSELING STAFF WILL NEED A SIGNED FORM OF CONSENT.  talk to your counselor to receive this form.
